‘Look Into My Eyes’ Review: Emotional Rescue
This fascinating documentary that profiles seven New York City psychics is both profoundly sad and surprisingly hopeful.
“Look Into My Eyes” Opens Nationwide in over 100 Theaters
Extended Run at the Film Forum!
What an experience to attend the theatrical premiere of “Look Into My Eyes” at the Film Forum here is New York City! The film was welcomed by record breaking audiences opening weekend and many sold out screenings all week. What a night! After the screening, Lana Wilson, the film’s director (and now friend) gave some illuminating insights about her process of making the film during a Q&A with Penny Lane, another documentary filmmaker.
It was my third time seeing it and am definitely getting more comfortable seeing myself on the big screen and still enjoying audience reactions. On Wednesday, September 11, myself and two of the other psychics participated in a Q&A with the Film Director at the Film Forum Joe moderating the panel for a stimulating Q&A. Joe is also a documentarian and had such interesting questions for us. We had quite the conversation with him and with the audience questions. Stay tuned for video from that Q&A.

"Look Into My Eyes" an A24 Documentary Film by Filmmaker Lana Wilson
“Look Into My Eyes” Film Premier!

On Friday night, August 16, I had the thrill of a lifetime. I attended the NYC premier of Look Into My Eyes, a feature length A24 documentary film by filmmaker, Lana Wilson (Miss Americana, Pretty Baby). For those of you who may not know, I am one of the seven psychics featured in this beautiful, sensitive, relatable and sometimes funny film. (see more photos below)
The event was held outdoors at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn. What an amazing place! If you haven’t been there, I highly recommend a visit. The weather was perfect, a clear golden moon hung high in the sky as 300 people watched the documentary.
The evening started out with lots of pics during (what I’ve learned is called) a step and repeat. You see it all the time when actors are standing in front of a big background getting their pics taking before the premier.
It was only the second time I’d seen the film (first time at the private screening room at the offices of A24). It is a challenging experience to see yourself on a big screen with hundreds of people watching. I’ve been told that some actors never watch their own films. I get it!
I really had fun creating my wardrobe for this event. It was Lana who inspired me on a phone call we had in the spring. When I asked her if she’d be wearing an evening gown to the premiere she said, “I’m thinking of going punk.” I loved that idea! My imagination ended up leading me in a slightly different direction which included a trip through my costume box and other adventures. I discovered a fabulous black tulle shawl with bats flapping around on it. I added lots of rhinestones, a silver mesh dress, some hand jewelry and I was good to go!
It was so interesting to hear the audience reactions throughout the film, which was followed with a Q&A with Lana Wilson, Kyle Martin (producer) and five of the psychics from the film including myself. How exciting to get to speak to the audience about my experience and vision for the film!
The Theatrical Premier of Look Into My Eyes is Friday, September 6 at the Film Forum in NYC. Tickets are on sale here

Look Into My Eyes - A Documentary Film by Lana Wilson, Sundance Film Festival 2024
Some of you may be hearing some buzz about a new documentary film, Look Into My Eyes directed by Emmy award winner, Lana Wilson (Miss Americana/Taylor Swift and Pretty Baby/Brooke Shields). I have had the extraordinary opportunity to participate in the film as one of the seven psychics over past three years. We are all looking forward to the New York Premier!

‘Look Into My Eyes’ Review: Psychics Shed the Mystique in a Funny, Compassionate Doc Portrait
“. . . The seven psychics that Wilson has assembled to interview and observe are a diverse group — four of them women, three men; four people of color, three white — with an equally varied range of approaches to their chosen calling, from New Age-y solemnity to fairground-style showmanship and sparkle. (That would be Sherrie Lynne, who dresses for work in a surfeit of bohemian bangles and scarves, openly acknowledging the artifice and theatrics of a spiel she largely performs at parties.) ”
My Journey with Lana Wilson: Behind the Scenes of 'Look Into My Eyes' Documentary
In September 2020, I was approached by producer, Kyle Martin (Drifting Cloud Productions) to participate in a Documentary directed by Lana Wilson. I hadn’t yet seen Miss Americana and wasn’t familiar with Lana’s work. The producer explained this was going to be a documentary involving psychics giving readings here in New York City. They wanted to film me doing what I love to do!
Lana and I spoke at length about the project. She talked about the film, her ideas and vision. I appreciated how open she was to listening to my ideas and suggestions and it made for a very collaborative, inspiring and fun conversation. There was no doubt that I was up for doing this!
Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn was the setting for my first day on set. What a thrill! Three cameras, sound booms, lights, crew -- on a chilly, clear October night in 2020. Covid was still in its early stages and there were filming guidelines that had to be adhered to. The set was simple -- a card-sized table under a huge tree. There was a 24” high plexiglass divider set up in the center of the table (remember the 6’ distance we had to keep?). I didn’t take off my mask until they began filming.
That October night I did a lot of readings under the stars. Loved every minute of it. Although it took a little getting used to have cameras rolling while I worked, I was amazingly able to tune them out and tune into each client. As the months passed, Covid restrictions lifted and no more plexiglass! Filming continued off and on over the next three years where I had more opportunities to not only do lots more private readings, but a Team Bonding event, several Bachelorette parties, and a Girl’s-Night-In party on film with Lana and her crew. And what a wonderful crew they were!
The locations ranged from Carl Shurz Park (by Gracie Mansion) to brownstones in Grammercy and Prospect Park to a fabulous office in midtown, where they filmed the Team Bonding event. One of my favorite locations was an outdoor beer garden in Norwalk, CT. It was costume contest night at the beer garden and thus, lots of people were dressed in wild and elaborate costumes. To top it off, they had an enormous fire pit blazing in the center of the party. Fabulous!!
In June of 2023, (my last day on set) they filmed all seven of us inside a church on the Upper East Side. It was the first time I got to meet most of the other readers. We were all invited there to partake in a séance / messaging circle on film. It was a very interactive and revealing experience. As each of our mediumship skills were called upon, I happily rose to the occasion and participated.
CUT TO: Early December 2023. Lana called to tell me the film had been accepted into The Sundance Film Festival. Wow!!! So exciting! We were all buzzing about the film and excitedly anticipating the big premier in Park City, Utah.
The week after Sundance, I was invited to a private screening of Look Into My Eyes at A24 (film producer) here in Manhattan. What an experience! Both seeing the film and then discussing it at length with Lana and Kyle (who met with me) right after I watched it. They were eagerly anticipating my response to the film. It was so helpful to share all my feedback, ask questions and give my reactions with them both. They are incredibly supportive people.
It took a full week, including chats with friends and a few of the other psychics in the film to process it all. Seeing oneself on a big screen takes some getting used to. Yikes!
All in all, it’s a beautiful film and I’m enormously grateful to be a part of this wonderful project. I hope you will treat yourself to seeing it when it is released.
Valentine's Day: Show me the Love!
Admit it……you love Valentine’s Day. No? Time to get in the spirit! I’m going to attempt to sway you with some ideas on how to make this a fun day. Try to keep an open mind.
IF YOU’RE SINGLE
Start by being your own Valentine. Sound cliché? Okay. How about, do something special for yourself.
Buy yourself your favorite flowers. They don’t have to be red roses. They should be flowers that make you feel good. Even one beautiful long stem rose is a lovely gift.
Buy yourself something delish to eat. A treat. Just for you.
Be sweet to yourself. Treat yourself to a mani-pedi. Guys, if you’re not into the pedi thing, go get a hot shave or treat yourself to some sexy aftershave or cologne.
Sink into a tub of bubbles and fragrance with some soft music. Come on guys…. have you ever tried it?
Put a spring in your step and buy yourself some helium balloons. They’ll lighten your day!
Invite a friend to join you for a hot cocoa with whipped cream or marshmallows. Some chocolatiers have hot cocoa bars.
Go to your favorite bookshop, have a latte and treat yourself to a new book or your favorite magazine.
I don’t know exactly when it happened or who started it, but whoever did, Gal-entine’s Day has started a trend of celebrations with gal-pals and BFF’s and fun, fun, fun. Go for it!
IF YOU’RE A COUPLE
You have the option of Traditional or Creative
Flowers, chocolates, and beautiful cards will never go out of style. Indulge.
Candlelight dining at a favorite restaurant or cozy café. Also a winner.
An evening overnight at a local hotel with a couple’s massages and a whirlpool. Love it.
If you’re looking for something a little different how about this:
Order a dinner delivery in advance. Plan to get home a little early. Put on an apron with nothing underneath. Have the table set with some candles. You may not get to the meal right away, but there’s nothing wrong with “reheating” (if you’ll pardon the expression).
Keep it simple - Take a moonlight walk holding hands.
Write each other a special notecard or love letter or, if your game, a poem. Rekindle the heart flame.
Each of you separately buy your significant other a take-out meal (one of their favorite dishes) and bring them home to share your meals with each other. Keep it a surprise til you get home.
If you have kids, hire a babysitter for the night. Pay her extra to take them to her place for a special sleepover. The rest is up to you.
Whatever you do, remember the symbol of the day is the heart. So be loving to yourself, give a friend a hug or a homemade valentine, tell someone you love them, hug a puppy, smile at a stranger, let the love in.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Sherrie
Get into the Spirit of the Chinese New Year
I love that the Chinese spread their New Year celebrations over two weeks. Lots of time for festivities, traditions and loved ones.
What does the Year of the Water Tiger have in store for us? I’m not a Chinese astrologer, but I’ve dug up some highlights for you. Here’s what intuitively caught my eye.
The Tiger is associated with Yang (masculine) energy. We all have masculine energy, so this is a time that calls upon the active part of ourselves. Chinese astrologers are telling us to expect things to rapidly change this year. The winter months are the best ones to start new projects. This is also the year of taking risks and adventure. So, get going!
New Year’s Eve is Monday, January 31 and the celebrations go through February 15. So you’ve got lots of time to celebrate and get into the spirit of the Tiger. Some of the traditional celebrations include:
Clearing the home space and letting go of something old
Shopping – clothes, decorations, meat, snacks, firecrackers. Lots of red.
Reunion dinners: gathering of loved ones
Eating dumplings
Sending blessing messages
Giving red envelopes with money or chocolate coins
We don’t have to be Chinese to embrace the spirit of the holiday. Let’s do it!
Here are some ideas for celebrating and observing the Year of the Water Tiger:
Invite your friends for a get together. Ask everyone to wear something red. If you’re having a Virtual hang, make sure the red is from the waist up! Eat dumplings with chopsticks. Order fortune cookies.
FYI – The color red signifies good fortune, luck, vitality, celebrating and prosperity. Who wouldn’t want that?!
Decorate your home with reds and golds. If you can’t find red lanterns, – how about some red helium balloons or streamers. Or …. buy yourself some red dahlias or roses, some red mugs or a red lamp shade. Be creative!
Treat yourself to some red leggings or a red hat or those red leather gloves you’ve been eyeing. Maybe a snazzy red shirt or tie. Fun red socks? Red nail polish!
And remember, the Water Tiger always trusts it’s instincts!
Contemplate letting go of something(s) that you no longer want or need. Think of it as making space for something new in your life.
If you didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions in January, now is the time! You want to make the most of the next two months to start new projects. These can be both professional projects or personal ones. If you’ve been putting off buying those watercolors with the pad and brushes, now is the time. If you’ve been avoiding starting that novel you’ve been wanting to write, why not now? Been postponing decluttering that closet for ages? Make a plan to get started and keep going! Have a great idea for a business? Put your toes in that water and take it a step further. See what happens. The Tiger is beckoning you.
Sending you all many blessings, vibrant energy and courage in this new year of the Tiger,
Sherrie
Physical vs Virtual Events?
Just when we thought the coast was clearing ……………. Omicron.
It’s the New Year, and in many ways it feels like we are going backwards. Ugh! Many of you cancelled your parties in December, feeling frustrated and disappointed. In NYC there are still some long lines to get testing, longer waits for test results and home testing kits have been swept off the shelves like toilet paper in 2020.
And yet …………. birthdays still go on, anniversaries continue and bachelorettes still want to celebrate. What’s a party planner to do? The good news is that you still have some choices and I’m hoping this blog post will shed some light.
Consider Virtual Events
Okay. Go ahead and say it….. “Oh God, not another Zoom thing. I want to be with people!” I get it. We all want the hugging and the kissing and the hand shaking and the real physical bodies to hang out with. The question, of course — is it worth the risk? With Omicron still surging this month, you may want to consider some Virtual fun in January and possibly February. Here are some advantages to having Virtual Psychic Entertainment:
Totally safe.
You can get together with friends and family from ANYWHERE around the globe.
Free of any driving, flying, training, busing, boating, biking.
So, no travel time or travel costs.
No bad weather issues to consider.
More entertainment style options. Virtual entertainment allows you to choose from a variety of group experiences.
No limit to the number of guests. No minimum to the number of guests.
Lower rates.
Plan Safely For Physical Events
I understand that some of you may wish to continue the “in-person” experience. If you want to have a Physical Event, consider these suggestions:
Only invite guests who are fully vaccinated. Better yet, vaccinated and boosted.
Ask your guests to take a home test 2-3 hours prior to coming (suggested by the New York Times). Hosts do the same, of course.
Some hosts are handing out test kits to their guests before entering the event or their home. This could be in a separate area or while people are still outdoors or in their cars.
Consider reducing the number of guests at your event. Perhaps you can plan two smaller soirées instead of one bigger one. Or have a small one now and a larger one a little later when things calm down.
Ventilation, ventilation, ventilation. Have some windows or doors cracked. Invest in an air purifier that kills viruses.
Ask anyone showing signs of a cold or feeling unwell to stay home.
Whether you go Virtual or Physical, make a plan that feels right and safe for you and your guests. I’ve put a reference below to help you navigate the process.
May you be safe. May you be well. May you keep celebrating!

A Midtown Gem
After a long stretch of only virtual events, I put my toes back into the water with physical events this past fall. One of the things I love about “in person” entertaining is discovering new venues in the city (NYC) and this one was a delightful surprise worth telling you about.
Right in the heart of midtown Manhattan with a penthouse city view is the PHD Terrace at the Dream Hotel. My corporate client, Blokhaus, had chosen it for their annual holiday party. As soon as I walked into the space, I had a good feeling. The warm lighting, the city views, and a certain intimacy all contributed to that.
They had planned an event for 40+ guests (the space holds up to 75) with cocktails, passed hors d'oeuvres and a buffet dinner. And, of course, psychic readings. The client and I chose a lounge alcove adjacent to the outdoor terrace. It was private, comfortable and quiet to make it easy for guests to hear some inspiring guidance. Perfect!
Having been invited to partake in the meal, I looked forward to sampling the buffet. It was yummy! A fun spread of everything from: a fresh seafood bar, to salads, pastas, and an upscale taco bar. I later discovered that this venue is part of the TAO Hospitality Group. That explained the delicious food.
The staff couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating. And I must put in a plug for the musician. I’ve never heard music quite like it at any event and it was wonderful. As the musician describes himself, a contemporary violinist with expertise in jazz, rock, pop, R&B, hip-hop, and classical styles. Christian Rose
All in all, a winner!
Note: Although I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting them, there are two larger event spaces one flight up that accommodate up to 200. One is currently featuring their winter / holiday decor. (above)
Trending: Tween Boys 'Into' Tarot & Palm Readings
Fortune Telling, Building Self Esteem and Having a Lot of Fun!
I’m witnessing a new trend at parties with tween boys (ages 8-13). I’m very excited about it! The boys have been swarming around my fortune telling table intently listening to their readings, passionately asking questions about their lives and their futures.
At an elementary school carnival, seated at a black draped picnic table, I was instantly surrounded by 15 boys, ages 9-11. Each was clamoring to be next. I made it a group experience and we had so much fun together. Many came back for seconds.
In addition to being both fun and engaging, my tween readings are intended to build self esteem and to encourage kids to pursue their dreams – whether it’s to be a big success at baseball, perform on a big stage or win a science contest. The readings can energize their spirits while engaging them in a fun activity.
I was touched that some the kids came over and thanked me and said they hoped I’d be back next year. Me too!
Bar/Bat Mitzvah Teens Love Fortune Telling
A few weeks ago I went up to beautiful Mount Kisko, New York to entertain adults and teens at a Bat Mitzvah. It was a large crowd (175 guests) and a lively, beautiful affair. The main focus was to be on the teens but we also wanted to give some attention to the adults.
To accomplish this we began the evening with Strolling Readings during the cocktail hour. With guests flowing both indoors and outside on the terrace, the Strolling allowed me to move among the guests giving the hosts great coverage. I engaged with many groups of adults offering fortune telling with palm readings and the tarot deck. It was a big hit.
The rest of the event was focused primarily on the teenagers. A round, draped table and chairs was set up for the readings so that groups of teens could gather around me and listen in on each other’s fortunes. (they love that) I was excited to see how popular the fortune telling was with the teen boys at this event. They were totally into it; having fun learning about the tarot, clowning around with each other over the readings and asking lots of questions.
The teens were having so much fun that when it was time for my meal break, they asked if they could join me at my table (while I ate) and give each other readings. Dining company! They were quite intuitive and I was impressed by the readings they were giving each other. Needless to say, they were having a blast.
Whoopee! You're Graduating! .... Party Time!
So you're planning a Graduation Party ....... what to do for entertainment? This may be the perfect time to bring out the crystal ball. And that's exactly what I did at a Graduation Party in SoHo. This college grad had a cocktail hour and buffet dinner planned at a charming and festive restaurant on Spring Street.
The host’s challenge at this party was how to entertain a large crowd within 2-3 hours. We went with Strolling Readings and Table-to-Table Readings. It turned out to be the perfect solution. This was a fun-loving crowd and they were excited to have me join them at their tables and during the cocktail hour.
The food looked amazing and the restaurant owners couldn’t have been more accommodating. Two thumbs up for the venue, Giorgione.
How Do You Hold Your Swords?
The suit of swords has been coming up frequently at party readings. This is the suit of Isis, the Egyptian fertility goddess and the Magician in the tarot. I like to think of the swords as the suit of personal growth, clarity, and wisdom. With the swords comes opportunity if you’re willing to look for the silver lining. They bring with them the promise of transformation and deep understanding.
The two of swords asks us to go deeper within ourselves. If you’re feeling confused or going through a challenging time right now (mercury is still retrograde), it may be a good idea to pause, get quiet, and look within. Ask yourself: Could there be a silver lining here? Is there something I’m meant to uncover about myself? Am I holding on to something or someone that I need to let go of?
Be open to possibilities and let some of the magical wisdom of Isis transform your situation.

Looking For A Theme For Your Bridal Shower?
Here’s one that’s fun and unique!
I recently entertained at a: Dress-As-A-Bride-Or-Bridesmaid - themed Bridal Shower. What a hoot! The women were all invited to come in costume. Guests were encouraged be creative and inventive -- And were they ever! I gave tarot and palm readings to a Cowgirl Bridesmaid, Minnie Mouse Bride, and Vintage Bride just to name a few. The bride-to-be was blown away by all the costumes and the women had a fabulous time.
So put on your red high-heeled boots, Minnie mouse ears, or grab a lasso for your next bridal shower. And stay tuned for more theme ideas!
Great Party Venue with Hudson River Views
Wouldn’t you like to be there right now? I would! One of the perks of being a psychic entertainer is getting to experience fabulous venues all around the New York Metro area.
Wouldn’t you like to be there right now? I would! One of the perks of being a psychic entertainer is getting to experience fabulous venues all around the New York Metro area.
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of heading up the Hudson River line to Red Hat on the River in Irvington, NY. It’s a short ride and the train takes you right to the restaurant. Literally! The party expanded over two floors with me giving private tarot and palm readings on the mezzanine balcony overlooking the river. Not too shabby! I was impressed with how warm, friendly and accommodating the staff was. The bridal shower was a big success.
So, if you’re planning a party and looking for a fun, pretty venue, with amazing views of the Hudson, (or you just want to get out of town for the afternoon and have some lunch) check out Red Hat on the River.
Girl’s Night In, Slumber Parties - New Trend?
Remember when you were ten years old and you got invited to a slumber party? Or maybe you hosted one? I remember staying up until dawn with five or six other girls telling ghost stories, playing with the Ouija Board and taking turns trying to levitate each other.
Today, New York women have reinvented the Slumber Party and I’m here to tell you that they are a lot of fun! Pajamas, wine, tasty food, music, good friends, and Psychic Readings. What could be better?!!
I especially enjoyed getting a post party escort to the subway at 11pm by five women in their PJ’s. (you know who you are!)
One of my favorite parts of doing this kind of work is meeting these young women. I’m so inspired by their ambition, talent, creativity, intelligence, stamina, and effervescence. What a gift to be a part of the festivities. You GO girls!
